My Mother inspired me to create and collect. Here she is in the 1930's at her Singer Sewing Machine.
Capturing history with collections of antique and vintage photography. My Mom and her Great Grandfather circa 1913.
Collecting family treasures like this antique dog and the thrill of adding to collections of creamers and jewels.
The work I do on Etsy prepping photos for publishing is a lot like painting. It's so much fun.
Enjoying living with beloved vintage surrounding me.

The Thrill of Collecting Vintage

I have to thank my mother for my love of collecting vintage. I was born into a New England family where things were treasured, cared for and passed down from one generation to the next. Every useful, beautiful and just plain utilitarian object had it's story and history.
Yankee thrift was not just a means to save money but a way to use and value what you had. From the heirloom family Bible that held the record of marriages, births and deaths to that last sliver of soap that would be tucked into the green handled soap saver basket....one used it up or wore it out.
It is a joy to hold, use and love objects that have a history. To feel the soft patina of age with my fingers. I am a mother, an art student and a nurse all vocations that take full advantage of my nurturing spirit.
Rescuing vintage from the dust bin rekindles that spirit in me. Repurposing, upcycling and restoring worn, loved, used and abused treasure brings me great joy.
My hope is you will see the same beauty and have the passion for the things that line the shelves of my shop.
